Mica recently was interviewed by Christian Carlisle on BBC Leeds & Sheffield - BBC Sounds about her recent single ‘Walking Wonder’ released in June. Mica says:
The track is about my experiences as a black woman and the struggle it can be sometimes listening to the stereotypes you are supposed to carry influenced by the media. Walking Wonder is supposed to feel like a conversation often had with those that are uneducated and the doubt that can bring out in self reflection. It’s an honest explanation of how i’ve often felt in my life being the only black person in a room and only having myself to speak to.A key influence of this track is Eyoni’s “Unmoved” (A Black Woman’s Truth).”
