Oceans Apart is a breakup ballad song inspired by the likes of Adele, Whitney Houston, Lewis Capaldi and Sam Smith. It is not a bitter nor angry song but instead a song about accepting that some things are simply not meant to be. You sometimes grow apart from your partner and fall out of love without any vicious intention. Ariadne wrote this song a few weeks before ending her then relationship. The guilt she felt for wanting to end things is apparent in the lines "I never meant to break your heart, wish I could love you one more time" The raw and emotional vocals along with the classic song writing and instrumentation have the power of taking the listener back in time when and a sense of nostalgia is created.
